V-Steam Herbs & Seats
Vaginal Steaming (V-Steam) is also referred to as Yoni Steaming or Vagina Steaming. It involves sitting over a pot of hot water and organic herbs, and undressing from the waist down, to expose the vulva and vaginal opening to the steam. It is beneficial in cleansing the vagina and uterus, regulating the menstrual cycle, easing the pain of period cramps and bloating, balancing and maintaining PH balance, and aiding in healing and soothing after childbirth. The practice can also be very meditative.
The V-Steam process takes about 15-30 minutes per session, depending on your body’s constitution and menstrual cycle history. As the steam rises and the herbs penetrate vaginal tissue, it is thought that the vagina and uterus are cleansed and soothed.
The warm steam and natural essential oils from the plants nourishes and tonifies the vaginal and uterine tissues. While improving circulation, the steams alleviate symptoms caused by, or related to, congestion in these tissues.
V-Steam treatments are available at spas, and they might have a special chair with a hole in it where the pot of herbs is warmed below. This steaming chair or bench is popularly referred to as the “throne.”
Instead of heading to a spa, you can now set up your own V-Steam using our V-Steam Sets, right in the privacy of your own home. Wrapping a towel or blanket around the lower body helps to keep the steam in and the body warm while sitting on the Yoni seat.
The Yoni Seat is easy to clean. The seat contains 5 holes for easy outlet of the water once finished, right into the toilet. It also folds, making it's size shorter for easy storage.
STEAMING INSTRUCTIONS (Get comfortable, light some candles, and grab a book to read and keep you occupied!):
- Place your Yoni Seat over your toilet
- Add 4 ounces of herbs (1/3 of the bag) into the Yoni Seat
- Next, fill the seat halfway with hot water.
- Let cool for about 5-10 minutes prior to sitting down.
- Once seated, place a towel or blanket over your lap to keep the steam inside.
- Sit, relax, and let the steam flow for 15-30 minutes.
- When done, pour the contents in the toilet and flush.
- Clean your Yoni Seat and store and a clean area for future use.
